Project Purpose

For the successful implementation and realisation of the programmes in the field of waste management in Slovenia, we have set the following priority objectives:

-  reducing the quantity of waste at source,
-  increasing the reuse of waste electricity generation and extraction of economically usable raw materials,
-  the treatment and processing of waste into substances that are no longer hazardous to the environment,
-  the thermal treatment of waste,
-  the smallest possible extent of the disposal of waste leftovers in landfill sites.

In Celje and the Savinja region, we are well-aware of the problems with waste management and the responsibility towards protecting the environment, which is why we have undertaken the
project of constructing the Celje Regional Waste Treatment Centre, which is going to provide a responsible and comprehensive waste management system. 24 municipalities in the Savinja
regionhave decided on the construction of a modern regional project.
