    Environmental Impacts

    The Celje Regional Waste Treatment Centre pursues the objectives defined in Article 174 of the EC Treaty and the objectives of the Fifth Environmental Programme.

    These objectives cover the following areas:

    -  Maintaining, preserving and improving the quality of the environment,
    -  The protection of human health,
    -  Deliberate and rational exploitation of natural resources,
    -  An increase in the share of dealing with regional and global environmental problems on an international level,
    -  Management of natural resources,
    -  Reduction in the consumption of non-renewable energy sources,
    -  Improved environmental quality in urban areas,
    -  Improvements in public health and safety,
    -  Climate changes.
    -  Air quality,
    -  Urban environment,
    -  Waste management
    -  The management of water resources
